RPI Chairman Strawn: Culver Failed to Come Clean with Iowans

Des Moines, IA – Republican Party of Iowa Chairman Matt Strawn issued the following response to Governor Culver’s condition of the state speech:

“Governor Culver today failed to come clean with Iowans. For him to stand up and say that he balanced the budget without raising taxes is just false. The Governor has repeatedly approved spending the state cannot support, and has passed the buck on to Iowans through the form of property tax increases.

“Today Culver said Iowans need to take bold action to overcome our economic troubles and I agree. That bold action will be Iowans going to the polls this November and decisively voting him out of office."
