Chairman Strawn Issues Statement Following REC Meeting

Des Moines - Matt Strawn, Chairman of the Republican Party of Iowa, issued the following statement Friday afternoon following reports on budget projections and spending cuts:

“I’m encouraged to see Governor Culver finally picking up our cost-savings ideas. We encourage him to adopt more Republican fiscal restraint as the state continues to deal with the effects of runaway spending at the hands of Democrats. Even though Culver ignored our warnings and led us into this deficit, Republicans are happy to be part of the solution.”
