Iowans can meet Republican candidates and office holders at the State Fair
Iowa-Iowa State tickets celebrate launch of texting program

Des Moines, IA – Iowans are invited to visit the Republican Party of Iowa (RPI) booth at the Iowa State Fair and meet a whole host of Republican candidates, office holders, and dignitaries who are scheduled to appear. The RPI booth will be in its traditional location along the North wall of the air-conditioned Varied Industries Building and will feature a multi-media display as well as traditional printed materials from our candidates, office holders, and the State Party.

To celebrate the opening of the State Fair, the Iowa GOP is launching a new text messaging tool to connect Iowa Republicans to the State Party through their cell phones. Those wishing to sign up for Iowa GOP text during the State Fair can win tickets to this season’s Iowa-Iowa State football game. To enter the contest just text the word “Hawkeyes” or “Cyclones” to 41513 and you will be eligible. You can also sign up through our website, www.iowagop.org. A winner will be announced the week after the Fair.

Matt Strawn, Republican Party of Iowa State Chairman, said today, “We are constantly working to develop new tools and find better and faster ways to communicate our principled conservative message to Republicans across Iowa. This new texting feature allows us to provide interested Republicans with real time updates on news, events, and action alerts.”

Note: Chairman Strawn will be the featured Republican at the RPI booth from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 15; and, Iowa Republicans are encouraged to come and meet this dynamic new Republican leader.
